Animated projection and a beautiful burst of modern South Asian dance about dyslexia and identity.

“The most perfect portrayal of what it is like to live in a world not designed for your way of thinking. A must-see if you are a child or adult, with or without dyslexia”
– audience member

What to expect

A visually stunning 40 minute performance, followed by a chance to stay and chat with the people involved.

Watch bodies and words fly like flocks of birds in a blizzard of confetti. Aakash Odedra Company combines visual design and technology with dance and humour to give a sense of what it’s like living in a world you struggle to process.

‘Little Murmur’ is about dyslexia, based on Aakash’s own experiences. School was very challenging for him. He spelt his name wrongly until he was 21. It wasn’t until he “found the missing ‘A’” in his name that he felt he belonged. Dance has been his way to express himself.

After the performance, you are welcome to stay in the Guildhall to chat with us and each other and the performers. There’ll be snacks (samosas!) available and the chance for friendly, relaxed conversation.

Gloucestershire Dyslexia Association will also be available after the performance, for anyone who wants to chat with them and find out more about dyslexia support.
