YOUNG CREATIVES PROGRAMME // THE MULTI-STORY ORCHESTRA

A paid opportunity for young creatives in Gloucester to join The Multi-Story Orchestra and Strike A Light for an exciting new music project.

🔥 Fee: £120 per day (freelance role)
🔥 Deadline for applications: Monday 12 October 2026

THE GIST

The Multi-Story Orchestra (MSO), in partnership with Strike A Light, are looking for 8 Gloucester-based music artists aged 18–25 to join an exciting new creative project.

You’ll work alongside other young creatives and the MSO team across a series of sessions to experiment, write songs and create new music together, leading to the development of a new co-production.

You’ll start with an induction day (November 2026) getting to know more about the project, experimenting with music and sharing ideas. Followed by a week (February 2027) working alongside the other young creatives and members of the MSO team to create songs.

You’ll have the opportunity to bring your passions and ideas to the creative process, working with professional musicians to bring your ideas to life. MSO projects have previously tackled a wide range of topics including gang culture, social media, identity and climate change. The music can cross styles including soul, R&B, classical and choral.

The work created through these sessions will be developed alongside professional artists into a new co-produced piece, which will be performed in Gloucester in summer 2027.

We’re looking for people who are:

  • Aged 18 – 25 and based in Gloucester
  • Interested in music – whether you write, sing, rap or play an instrument
  • Eligible to work in the UK
