Gloucester Roundhouse Exchange Creative Bursary January 1, 2019 – March 31, 2020
Gloucester Roundhouse Exchange Creative Bursary
If you are aged 16-30, living or working in Gloucester and want to develop your creative skills through attending a particular event or workshop, then this is for you.
Gloucester Roundhouse Exchange (GRHEx) is an exciting partnership between Gloucester Culture Trust, Gloucester Guildhall, The Music Works and Strike A Light and the iconic music and performing arts venue in Camden, London- The Roundhouse.
As part of the project we want to support young artists and creatives in Gloucester to develop their skills. The GRHEx bursaries are designed to help cover the costs of attending events or workshops which will help develop your creative skills or career.
If you’re a musician, performer, producer, promoter or young creative and you live or work in Gloucester then you can apply.
What kind of events or workshops could I do?
The Roundhouse have a brilliant selection of workshops, shows, training days and other opportunities for artists. Their website shows what the current opportunities are:
We encourage people applying to the bursary to look at opportunities at The Roundhouse first but if you want to do something specific which The Roundhouse don’t offer you can also apply for a bursary to go to an event or workshop elsewhere.
How much can I apply for?
You can apply for up to a maximum of £250 to cover any costs you need to be able to attend the event. For example this might be to cover the cost of train travel to The Roundhouse and overnight accommodation if the event finishes too late to get back to Gloucester. When you apply you tell us what the different costs are and how much you need for each.
As well as travel and/or accommodation costs you may need to apply for childcare costs, materials to take part in a workshop, a ticket to the event or anything else you need to pay for to be able to take part in the event or workshop.
If you are applying to attend an event at The Roundhouse, through GRHEx then we may be able to arrange a free ticket through our partnership so you don’t need to include this cost in your application. We will talk to you about this when you have made your application and make arrangement where needed.
How do I apply?
The GRHEx creative bursaries will be awarded monthly so you need to apply by midnight on the 20th of the month and then we will let you know by the end of the month if you have been successful.
For example if you want to attend an event in March, you need to apply by 20th February so we can let you know by the end of February if you have been successful. The further in advance you can apply the better, so plan ahead!
If you need help with the application or would like to apply by talking your application through with us instead please contact Jessica Marston at The Music Works on firstname.lastname@example.org
