The deadline has now passed. These sessions will be taking place online while lockdown is in effect.
What is it?
Gloucester Future Producers is a chance to develop your skills in and find out more about:
- Producing festivals
- Touring shows
- Creating events
- Promoting gigs
You’ll work with other aspiring producers and promoters, meet and hear from different festivals and events professionals to build your network. We’ll look at different areas of producing including:
- Programming and booking performers
- Marketing and promotion
- Fundraising and managing budgets
- Managing live events
You will have the opportunity to produce events in Gloucester with an allocated budget and to undertake a work placement. These events and work placements are currently planned for Autumn 2020.
Who is it for?
If you’re over the age of 18, live in Gloucester or want to get involved with the Gloucester events scene then this is for you.
You could already be running your own events and want to build your network and develop your career. Or you could just be interested in festivals and events and want to find out more.
The placement you do can be tailored to suit your commitments and the opportunities you’re interested in. There’s no minimum number of hours required so you might want to shadow someone on an event for a day or two, or take on a role in a festival team for a couple of weeks. We will assist you to find a work placement opportunity.
When and where is it?
Sessions will take place on Wednesdays, 6:30pm-8:30pm
From 3 June – 15 July
These sessions are currently planned to take place online (via zoom).
More session dates will be announced asap. These follow up sessions will allow participants to work together to use what they have learnt to produce an event of their own in Gloucester.
How do I apply?
If you’d rather talk in person or on the phone instead of applying in writing then get in touch and we can set something up.
Deadline for applications: Monday 18 May 2020
What if I have questions?

Will the COVID-19 situation affect the delivery of the course?
Some adjustments have been made due to the COVID-19 situation. We have updated the timeline so the first round of sessions will now take place between 3 June & 15 July. These sessions will be held online (via zoom or similar). There will be a second round of sessions at some point this autumn (providing it is safe to do so) for participants to work together to produce their own events. We will be monitoring the situation and updating the delivery and timeline accordingly.
