Car park classical music – The Multi-Story Orchestra (in pre-Covid times)

What to expect

The Multi-Story Orchestra (MSO) are famous around the world for performing beautiful, classical music…in high rise car parks around the UK.

The World Awakens is a ‘virtual performance’ of a brand new piece of music that MSO have made with pupils from schools in Gloucester.

It’s a digital orchestra – with each instrument and voice recorded separately, in people’s homes and schools, during isolation – and now all the parts are being combined together for the big finale.

Making the piece has involved The Multi-Story Orchestra, three opera soloists and a virtual choir formed of hundreds of young people and community groups from Gloucester and Southwark.

Join us on 29 October 2020 to hear the whole performance, and to watch a digital animation set to its soundtrack by Mary Martins.
