What to expect
In 2019 Strike A Light met the Gloucester youth climate strikers.
We met them shouting in the streets.
They were a small group of extraordinary young people from Gloucester aged 13-17.
Protesting with banners and their voices.
Shouting for their future.
Shouting in the wind.
Shouting to survive.
Shouting words of wisdom and shouting speeches beautifully crafted that would put many politicians to shame, they were often met with abuse.
Over the last three months this small group have been meeting over Zoom and in person to create a new performance with director/writer Anna Himali Howard.
I Stand For What I Stand on.
This intimate performance, a work in progress, using ABBA, cardboard signs and their thoughts and fears about the current pandemic and the impending climate crisis will all be played out under Luke Jerram’s GAIA at Gloucester Cathedral.
Awesome people who are making this event possible 🙏🎉
