  • 3 days a week (remote & office based working)
  • £34,000 pro rata (£20,400)
  • Deadline for applications: Monday 21 April, 11:59pm
  • Interviews will be held on 6 & 7 May

THE BRIEF

You’ll take the lead on bringing all Strike A Light events to life – from co-created projects and community-led activities to big outdoor productions. You’ll be in charge of event budgets, making sure everything runs smoothly and hits our aims and objectives, all while working closely with the Artistic Director to stay true to our vision. You’ll also team up with our Community Producers to develop and deliver their projects, helping to find creative opportunities, set budgets, and make the work happen.

The ROLE

  • We are looking for an exceptional individual to come and join us to create extraordinary events with and for the communities of Gloucester.
  • You will be the central part of the team making things happen, working with our Artistic Director and Community Producers to plan, programme and deliver events in public squares, community spaces and occasionally car parks.
  • We are looking for someone who shares our principles and who also wants to bring new ideas and ways of working to the organisation.
  • The role reports to the Artistic Director and is responsible for line-managing the Assistant Producer.
  • The role is offered on a 0.6 contract (3 days/22.5 hours per week) at £34,000 pro rata (£20,400 per year)

If you’re interested to find out more about this role, you can attend an online info session on: 26 March (6pm – 7pm) or 1 April (12pm – 1pm)

About you

We’re looking for someone with solid experience producing a mix of live theatre, dance, music, and events – especially in non-traditional spaces and large-scale outdoor settings. You’ll need to be confident handling big event budgets, managing community-led and co-created projects, and building strong relationships with a wide range of people, from funders and stakeholders to local communities.

We need someone who’s approachable, empathetic, and great at communicating, as well as a self-starter who can manage their own workload, meet tight deadlines, and work flexibly within a small team.

You should be passionate about Gloucester and Strike A Light’s work, with a strong understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusive approaches, including the Social Model of Disability.

We’re looking for someone who can think outside the box, challenge the norm, and stay calm under pressure while keeping a solution-focused mindset. And importantly, you should be ready to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in!

Gloucester is a diverse city and we value having a range of experiences and perspectives to make things better.  Everyone is welcome to apply.  However, owing to the underrepresentation of these identities and characteristics across our sector at large, we are particularly interested in hearing from people who identify as D/deaf and/or disabled, those from low socio-economic backgrounds and Global Majority* candidates.

*In using the term ‘Global Majority’ we refer to people who identify as Black, Asian, Brown, dual-heritage, indigenous to the global south, and or have been racialised as ‘ethnic minorities’. (Rosemary Campbell-Stephens, 2020)
