O’DRISCOLL COLLECTIVE DANCE ARTISTS CALL OUT

O’Driscoll Collective are looking for two Gloucester based dance artists to work with them on their new project Choose Your Sound this summer.

THE GIST

O’Driscoll Collective (OC) are looking for two Gloucester dance artists to help shape their new Primary School mass performance piece ‘Choose your sound’.

As part of the project OC will be working with Tredworth Primary School in Gloucester & Far From The Norm – in the hope to create a unique and new collaborative work which represents life as a year 5 student today!

A great opportunity for those who have a keen interest in community dance, creative engagement, teaching and/or early career. 

This Project is born out of ‘Something Outta Nothing (SON)’ which is a site-specific dance-theatre work created by Jamaal O’Driscoll, which combines Dance with audio technology and a narrative created in conversation with local communities.

WHO?

We’re looking for people who are:

  • Skilled in improvisation and creative practice
  • Comfortable with movement grounded in Breakin’ and Hip Hop
  • Confident working with young people
  • Able to collaborate effectively as part of a diverse team
  • Comfortable working in non-dance spaces (e.g. car parks, church halls, school playgrounds)
  • Open to working closely with others and trying something new
  • Able to stay calm and work well under pressure
  • Open to working with the community / non-dancers
  • Confident facilitators with good teaching skills

Requirements:

  • Aged 18+
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Hold (or be willing to get) a valid DBS

THE DETAILS

JOB ROLE

  • To be a key practitioner in delivering school workshops. 
  • Contribute towards the creation of creative tasks, repertoire and engagement research.
