What is it?

Gloucester Future Producers is a chance to develop your skills in, and learn more about:

Over 10 weeks you’ll work with other aspiring producers, meet and hear from different arts and events professionals to build your network.

We’ll look at different areas of producing including:

You will have the opportunity to be involved in producing an event in Gloucester with an allocated budget. You will also be offered one to one mentoring sessions with Strike A Light's producer.

The course is delivered by Strike A Light in partnership with Gloucester Culture Trust & Gloucester Guildhall.

Who is it for?

If you’re over the age of 18, live in Gloucester or want to get involved with the Gloucester arts and events scene then this is for you.

You could already be running your own events and want to build your network and develop your career. Or you could just be interested in festivals and events and want to find out more.

We’re looking for people excited to collaborate with others and with a passion & drive to make exciting projects happen in the city.

FAQs

Do I need any skills or experience to take part?

You don’t need prior experience or existing skills to take part. This programme is for emerging producers or those interested in finding out what producing is. We’re looking for people eager to learn, excited to collaborate with others and with a passion and drive to make exciting creative events happen in the city. You will be expected to be committed to the programme and work as part of a team.

Is there an age limit?

You need to be over 18 to take part. You could be just out of school and looking to explore the working world, recently graduated from University and wanting to gain more experience or just eager to get involved in Gloucester’s arts, festivals & events scene.

Is there a charge for the course?

The programme is completely FREE! Thanks to funding from Arts Council England and support from our partners Gloucester Guildhall and Gloucester Culture Trust.

Who will be delivering the programme?

The course will be led by Strike A Light’s Producer. Each week, there will be guest speakers and workshops leaders from across the arts & events sector.

How many places are there on the programme?

There are up to 15 places available. Participants will be chosen based on the information provided in their applications. If we have a particularly high volume of applications then we may invite people to meet us for a conversation in order to help us make a decision.
