THIS IS HOW WE DO IT: MAKING OPPORTUNITIES FOR DISABLED ARTISTS

This Is How We Do It – Free online sessions exploring different ways of working

Over the past couple of years, many people have asked us about the way we work. At the same time, we’re keen to learn from others who are tackling similar challenges. So, we’re opening up a space for conversation – a chance to share ideas, experiences, and approaches to contemporary arts, cultural events, and even social change, both here in Gloucester and beyond.

Wednesday 18 March // 1pm – 2pm // Online (via zoom) // FREE

Strike A Light and TwoCan Theatre have partnered on a new Artist in Residence programme for disabled artists based in Gloucestershire.

Join Nickie, Artistic Director of TwoCan Theatre and Emma Jane, Artistic Director of Strike A Light, as they chat about about the programme – why we wanted to make it happen, why partnership felt essential, and why opportunities like this matter.

We’ll talk about:

  • Why dedicated opportunities for disabled artists are important
  • Why this work matters to us as organisations and what change it will make
  • The benefits of partnership working
  • The challenges and how we might navigate them together

TwoCan Theatre are Gloucestershire’s pioneering disabled-led theatre company, creating opportunities for deaf, learning disabled and neurodivergent artists, participants and audiences.

Strike A Light are excited to be partnering with TwoCan and continuing building this relationship to support disabled artists and audiences across Gloucestershire.

Captioning will be enabled on zoom
